My ideas - ComaxgoYT94 - 08-29-2018
The year is 1992,
A new airline is formed in Russia,called Russian Air.
The company have elected you as the CEO.
They have put a lot of faith in you.
However,the job is not easy,
1 year ago,USSR collasped.
The newly formed Russian Federation's economy is unstable.
You have limited money,spend them wisely.
What route would you take?
Be the low cost airline
Or become the traditional airline that conquer the skies in the past.
The choice is yours.
Dont let your company down.
Objective:Be the biggest European airline before 2052.
You can only use Airbus and Bombardier aircraft!
You cant expend your routes to Asia,Africa,South America,North America and Oceania.
What do you think of this idea?

Great idea and I will try to implement it, since we currently don't have the option for using custom airlines in a scenario

Can't we just have it as Aeroflot? ^^
I find it a bit weird to disallow the player from flying to other continents.
I think it's crazy to object communist Russia from flying to communist China, while being able to fly to its former enemy western Europe?
Perhaps, force the user to maintain a minimum number of domestic routes?
And maybe, to make things though, start out with:
-A loan
-very little money
-some Tupolev and Ilyushin aircraft. (which had bad fuel consumption rates at the time, which makes it uncompetitive to the new western markets)
Note: selling these aircraft shouldn't allow the user to buy a brand new airbus/bombardier fleet.
This can be done by having the aircraft in the fleet already being quite old and thus not worth much, and
with the money you make of selling these, you don't earn enough to buy enough aircraft to maintain all domestic routes.
Just a few additional thoughts.

My thought when I posted that idea is to make the scenario as hard as possible,Aeroflot at that time already have International routes.It kinda make things more easier.
(This scenario can be considered as a challenge)

My ideas actually makes it tougher a challenge
see it like this:
Aeroflot/fantasy airline has Tupolev and Ilyushin aircraft.
These aircraft are very uneconomic to operate, no problem if there is no competition, but in this case, Air France/KLM/Lufthansa/Whatever start competing with you.
With much more efficient aircraft.
You want to get rid of these aircraft and buy more competitive models.
But you can't. They're worth next to nothing due to their age, and selling them doesn't allow you to buy enough new airliners to maintain the obligatory domestic routes (which also might not turn a profit).
On top of that, you have nearly no starting cash and a massive outstanding loan.
So yes, in my suggested scenario you do have a starting fleet.
But I wouldn't consider that a gift really. There is no way they can beat competing airlines and they don't turn a good profit on other routes.
It's a bit more out of the box then the usual scenarios we have at the moment: start up an airline, here is your cash (enough to buy 1 or 2 airliners) and get big soon.
Looks like you're correct on Aeroflot already being massive in 1992. (even though they lost 95% of their fleet with the fall of the Soviet Union)
Perhaps start as Rossiya? And have it compete with Aeroflot, to make it even harder?
