Aircraft Age - UBF - 02-22-2019
Hey again. I've been taking a look at the database, and I've noticed an issue with aircraft age. When starting a new game with opponent airlines that already have aircraft, aircraft will often be listed as built earlier than when it was introduced. For example, a 787-9 built in 1998, A320neo built in 1997, 737 MAX in 2005, etc.
Along the lines of this, I have a feature suggestion as well. Perhaps it's possible when starting a new save to have the option to make all airlines start with 0 aircraft as well?

I added the bug report to the list.
For your suggestion: deselect 'use startdata for opponents' when creating a new game.
I think that does what you want.

Ah, cheers. I missed that! I'm curious though, does that remove preferred airliners or does it just affect aircraft and routes?

As far as I know, it only affects the data in the xml file inside the <startdata> tag.
So it depends on how the specific file is set up. (is this correct Pjank?)
AI (along with this specific feature) is up for revision though. But it's planned for a few versions further down the road.

If you deselect that option the opponents will not start with any aircrafts or routes

Also, I don't think this warrants a new thread since I'm not sure if it's a bug or if the feature just hasn't been implemented yet, but I noticed that when adding Airlines and their respective cargo subsidiaries as competitors, Eg. Air France and Air France Cargo, it doesn't show any affiliation between the two, nor does Air France own any shares of Air France Cargo, etc.EDIT: Also, A small bug with EasyJet, it's marked as Regional, which means it doesn't show up when selecting "Use only major airlines" Even though its subsidiary, EasyJet Switzerland is marked as Global.
Furthermore, there seems to be a bug with the "isMajor" tag. For example, SouthWest airlines doesn't show up if you tick "Use only major airlines" because that tag is based on whether the market is "Regional" or "Global". However since SouthWest is only in the US, it won't show up even if it is a huge airline.

The first hasn't been implemented yet indeed.
It should come together with the AI overhaul.
The second seems like we have made a mistake during the implementation. We'll fix that.
But again, it will receive an update with the AI update too.
