Gates problems - TheTiger - 05-19-2019 Hello, Started BEA based in London in 1960.  Came with 2 slots.  Scheduled LHR-ORD and LHR-PHL, both departing at 10:00am.  Now those 2 slots are used up so I apply for more slots.  Slots are reserved, but I can't use them.  Apply for slots in PHL or ORD and the slots are rented and immediately available.  What's the problem in LHR? RE: Gates problems - Tjoeker - 05-19-2019 LHR (like most european airports) is slot constrained which means you will have to apply for a slot and await approval. To use a slot at a coordinated (thus slot constrained) airport, you have to apply before the season deadline. You can schedule ahead for the next season though.
