ICAO Codes (IATA????) - kwilson92 - 10-27-2019 Hi, I am obviously i am working on adding historic airlines of europe into the game, but one issue i would like clarification on are IATA and ICAO codes. Any airline between 1930 and 1947 will not have an ICAO code as they weren't introduced until 1947 and any airlines between 1930 and the early 1950's won't have an IATA code as they weren't introduced until 1953 (ish). So most airlines i have put there successor codes on but some airlines like Air France have 5-10 predecessors, so what should i do about that? RE: ICAO Codes (IATA????) - Tjoeker - 10-27-2019 You can for example use 'AFU' for Air Union? With AF comming from Air France, and the U from Air Union? I'd say if they have a link to a current airline, keep those letters as the first 2, and do what you want with a third letter. Numbers are preserved for cargo subsidiaries or other subsidiaries that have the same as their parent airline. RE: ICAO Codes (IATA????) - kwilson92 - 10-27-2019 So for example: CFRNA - AFC Air Union - AFU Air Orient - AFO Union de Transports Aeriens - AFA Societe Generale desTransports Aeriens - AFG Also, Airlines that start before the game starts in 1930, do we put 1930 as the start date or the actual date? RE: ICAO Codes (IATA????) - Tjoeker - 10-27-2019 We have plans to start the game as early as 1920 in the future. If they start before 1920, you can either use 1920 or 1900. Whatever you like. RE: ICAO Codes (IATA????) - Tomcatter - 10-27-2019 "Messageries Aeriennes" could be "AF / AFR" because they took over / merged withe the most of the opponents. When it was called "Air Union" and later became "Air France", that would fit. Grands Express Aeriens = CGE Societe General des Transports Ariens = SGT Only examples. Just compare if no other airline has this codes during this time period. RE: ICAO Codes (IATA????) - kwilson92 - 10-27-2019 ok so putting 1921 won't break the game? RE: ICAO Codes (IATA????) - Tjoeker - 10-27-2019 Nope. ![]() |
