Start with realistic Airlines - Tivapularz - 08-16-2020
Hey,
I am pretty new to this forum and have only found this game a few days ago. But so far, I am really enjoying what I am seeing.
But for me there is one major problem, which is making the game pretty boring from my POV. When I started my first save up with my favourite Airline (Emirates), I expected to have their real life fleet, as well as their routes already implemented into the game. I actually expected the same from all the other Airlines, but that was not the case. Even worse is the fact, that Airlines buy planes, but do not schedule them onto routes. Lufthansa e.g. had 119 planes in their fleet but only flew one route.
My suggestion would be, to have various supporters help gathering data from maybe the 50 biggest airlines in the world and implement them into the game.
I think it would make an Airline founding much more interesting and would boost the competitiveness of the game.

The AI in TAPv2 is indeed kinda dumb. We will work on it for the new version, TAP Next Gen.
Though, there is a feature in TAPv2 which does what you want. If you launch the game with 'use start data for opponents' enabled, many airlines (not all) will start with real routes and a fleet based on their real fleet. Though, the AI keeps on doing dumb things after starting the game.
However, the airline you start with will never have airliners at the start of the game.
We will look into changing this for TAP NG as well.
