To me, one important feature is to change the game to an online one, in multiplayer mode. It is more realistic to play that way than simply with AI.

Nice Idea, but I do think it needs to at least keep a offline mode as this is really a major selling point for this game. I cant think of any other airline sim that is offline, not everyone has time to keep up with an online mode every day.

There are online airline sims around, good and bad ones, but you never stand a chance if you can't play regularly against players who literally check their airlines several times a day. Not to mention that the free ones have stuff like don't play a for a few days and your airline gets erased.
I just want to play now and again without getting crushed, and i still want to have some large major airline not a backwater one that might get crushed at any moment if a major takes a liking to my route.
Being offline is the main thing this game has to offer imho, while there are already online products so no real need to add a new one.
What would be nice would be to be able to play against a few friends only.
The AI might be stupid, but players online use every single loophole to create even more utterly unrealistic lines with stupid prices, seating configurations, and thousands of planes in the air and crush everyone, creating routes that loose them money to steal them from smaller lines that cannot afford to loose money. At least with friends we can use homerules.

At the moment an online version hasn't been planned for the next 3 releases and the offline gaming will still be the main focus

Well, in my opinion the game is far from ready for online.
And anyway, there is a ton of online airline sims. Some are free (and sh*t) and some require you to pay 0,1 dollars per gameday (24 hours real life) which in my opinion is a robbery.
If TAP would go on-line, get ready for not playing it for free (or at least ad-free), becouse the server maintenance would take a huge chunk of money every month.
Not talking about an another aspect of the game: Timing.
The game should have to run 24/7 on the servres and the biggest problem should be it.
Now, if there Ever be an Online version, get ready for problems with it:
1. The in-game time will never be as fast as on your PC, as even in the Free2Play versions of other games on the net they are Real-Time or 1day/20minutes (Personally this is why I Love TAP, it's Not A RTPMMO!!!)
2. There will be a cost to handle monthly, so the devs will have to put a fee.
I would prefer to create P2P gameplay if it is possible with other players, like it's handled for example in OpenTTD (1 guy creates a server on his own PC and the others can connect. The data iscreated on every PC individually and the other PC's in the group only copy/paste the data from the others through the web).
This could be a working thing if you ask me, so this way you can play with your friends until you want, or you could compete against other community members.
