I think this would be a great addition to the game.
An other thing that could be interesting is design flaws. For example the the de Havilland Comet was a revolutionary plane for it's time. It was one of the first commercial jet engine planes with a great capacity for passengers. But because of design flaws the aircraft was grounded for months and several flights crashed. Which brought sales down and kept the aircraft from being a success.
Currently this is not covered in the game, but could be very interesting in my opinion. I think it would be challenging to have your aircrafts being grounded for weeks and needing to lease other aircrafts to replace them. Though I do think their should be a randomness factor in here. Because if the same airline type will always be grounded in year xxxx on month xx for x length, you can easily avoid buying that aircraft, which does not add any realism to the game.
Maybe some sort of manufacturer design flaw randomness can be implemented. The bigger the manufacturer is the lower the chance for a design flaw, also the year of development should be a factor. So an aircraft designed in the 1930's by a small manufacturer is more likely to fail then an aircraft made in 2017 by a big manufacturer. (Although this could still happen of course, take a look at the 787)
And in general i would love to see incidents in the game. Crashes, hijacks, medical emergencies onboard, drunk passengers which cause the plane to make a stop, etc..
Greetings Nick
