Almost Perfect

I have recently picked up TAP and must open this post commending the game as wonderful! I have played different airline simulations and this is towards the top of the list. With that said, there is a specific gameplay that I have yet to find... I wish to be in full control of all the airlines in the game. As in, I would like to start a game and play as CEO of every airline in the game from the standpoint of simulation, and not so much as a "competitive game". This style of game play really isn't available in any airline games, and I've tried them all.

So the million dollar question is... is there a way to do this in TAP2?

I've read that TAP1 had a sandbox mode, and that could be extremely close to finally finding my game play. How do you enter sandbox mode on TAP1?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, thanks for the kind words!

The thing we'd consider sandbox mode at the moment is under 'start new game'. So no, it's not possible to play with all airlines under your command.

We might make it more sandboxy at some point and add settings for starting fleet, money and -who knows- starting subsidiaries.
This would mean you can control as many airlines as you want, but they will all be part of your main airline. (which doesn't necessarily mean they are all codesharing?)


I don't know if this was possible in v1, I haven't played with it long enough before moving on to v2..
Maybe Pjank (or somebody else) can help you out on this one?

It was not possible in v1 :-)

If the issue is that you can't select from all airlines in the game, then it might be because the box for "Use Only Major Airlines" is checked?

Thank you for your quick replies. One thing I have thought of since you mentioned subsidies, is there a limit to how many subsidies you can have? One way I could accomplish this is by buying up the other airlines.

I don't know of any limit, but it's going to take a while to buy them all out.
