I'm curious if an airline being at a given airport will cause the area around it to grow more than if no airline was there.

In v 2.13 is the routes themselves that have a steady growth. This is something the game inherited from V1.
In the future this will indeed change to the airports growing rather than the route.

Yeeah thats good. Look at the impact LCCs have irl. Ryanairr cannoperate into a airport with no commercial flights and turn it into a profitable base within a couple of years.
