I've only had a quick try at this so I might be missing something, I started at vancouver International water airport brought a new cesena 208 which is a mixed seaplane and set up some routes around vancouver, a mix of sea and normal airports, the routes got accepted but when I tried to schedule flight it came up with plane type not correct, so I changed the route type from passenger to mixed type and it still wouldn't work.

Am I doing something wrong or is it not in the game yet

There was a bug with Seaplanes indeed. It should be fixed in the next update, but I'll check again just to be sure.
