Airport Logos |

Individual Downloads:
Logo pack 3 (Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland)
Logo pack 5 (Greenland, Canada and Alaska)
Logo pack 6 (East USA)
Installation:
copy the images and paste them in this folder:
.../TAPv2/data/graphics/airportlogos/logos
overwrite any existing images.
I've created a new topic in the correct forum, maybe Pjank can move the posts about the updates to here?
About update 3:
This update contains 144 logos from: Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.
Updated logos:- [AAL] Aalborg
- [AAR] Aarhus
- [BLL] Billund
- [GDN] Gdansk
- [GOT] Goteborg
- [SGD] Sondeborg
- [TLL] Talin
- [TRF] Sandefjord
- [WAW] Warsaw
Many airports belong to the same company/group, so once again, there are many repeated logos.
To diversify the logos, I added the name of the airport or town in the same style as the logo. (I did the same for Aena airports in Spain).
However, these names in scandinavia contain letters that aren't used in my language. If it contains any typo, let me know
I once I finish the next update, I'll take a brake until the Prealpha 8 gets released. (I don't know when pjank is planning this release though).
In the meantime I'll work on some other *secret * project. (pjank, i'll text you about this in a minute).
Soooo, a question: after Europe, what countries should I cover next?

We are now ready with the new release of the game. A little earlier than expected. I haven't changed the way the route planning is working.
Check the changelog for what have been updated. It is marked with [RA7]: Changelog
The version can be downloaded here

Airport logos |

So, I've been busy again .
I've created logos for 126 airports in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Germany, France and United Kingdom - about 95% of the airports that receive commercial flights IRL.
I've noticed you use an alpha channel to replace the white backgrounds.
However, this means that sometimes (quiet often actually) you can't see/read parts of the logo.
Here is an example:
This is the logo:
I've been messing around, trying to make all logos consistent.
I need your opinion on how we should implement the logos
At first I just added the white background:
But this felt weird and out of place.
I added a black border. (maybe this border can be scripted to use the colours the player chose in the settings? This might give horrible clashes with colours in the logo though)
I experimented a little with shadows as well:
In some rare cases we could remove the white background (in fact, London Southend is the only one at the moment):
Maybe we should ad some shadow to the window edges like this, to blend it all together:
What do you think?
Any other possibilities you can think of to remove the hard contrast between the logo and the game background?
In my opinion the heavy shadows are the best option, and where possible we can remove the white background.
On a side note,
I couldn't find logos for Ajaccio Airport and Figari Airport. I think these airports are to big to leave them without a logo ^^
So if you live near and can get me a picture of the logo, that would be great

AI improvements |

Like I said in this topic, the AI could use some improvements.
I'm a newbie when it comes to coding (started learning C# few months ago), but I think this will contribute to 'dumbing down' the AI.
This suggestion is mainly about 2 things the AI does wrong. (in my opinion)
Choosing planes
at the moment the AI can choose from all the planes available in the game. (I might be wrong, maybe it's my settings?)
It hurts my feelings, seeing a company like Lufthansa buying Cessna's to do it's aviation. (I might be wrong, maybe Lufthansa does have Cessna's for commercial flights?)
Although there is a setting 'preferred airliners' in the xml file, the game does seem to ignore it?
I'd like to see a setting in the Airline file which defines which kind of planes they buy:
-General Aviation (Cessna, Beachcraft, ...)
-Regional jets (like A320, B737, ...)
-Long haul jets (A330, B777, ...)
-a combination of the above
*this is just an example list, not the final list.
They should still prefer their 'preferred airliners', but if they are willing to ignore these for whatever reason (can't afford these, need an aircraft with shorter RWY distance, ...) they should look at this list.
Origin airports
I don't know what the rules are for this at the moment, but...
My new airline (homebase: Brussels; Focus Airports: Brussels, Liege) created a route from London Heatrow to Madrid.
So Did British Airways (homebase:London Heatrow) create a route from New Ark (USA) to Chicago (USA).
I know British Airways has some regional routes in USA, but bear with me.
I think AI should first complete all predefined routes from the xml, If there is no competition that makes it unprofitable/not profitable enough.
As soon as it has completed the list (flying all destinations except for unprofitable destinations), it can start looking for new destinations. (originating from the focus airports)
If there are no new profitable destinations available from the focus airports, it can start looking for a new focus airport(s). (depending on the mentality. IE the lowest mentality rankings will only fly from predefined focus airports).
I'm willing to help update all the airline files if you need me to. (I believe it's gonna be a lot of work :p )

Belgian Airlines |

I created an xml for Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium.
I don't know the names for the colours by heart, so I just left it like it was. (it should be some blue (or yellow for the current color scheme))
I also don't know when they bought what airliner, so I just left it like it was. (I set the correct amount of airliners though).
About the destinations, I don't know where they fly from what airport (from Brussels [BRU] or Liege [LGG]).
So I set Brussels (main hub) to every destination and Liege to some destinations I thought were reasonable.
Also, I don't think they fly (flew) to Lille (which is just across the border of our tiny country). Maybe this was a 'departure' airport as well?
If somebody can aknowledge this, I'll add it in.
Thomas cook Belgium is as of march 2017 part of Lufthansa, but I don't think I can set that anywhere?
Up next: TUI Fly Belgium (Jetairfly)
No xml allowed? anyway, here is the code:
Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

I have the 0.51 x64 version and I could only run it one time. I tried several times even with admin rights but it doesn't start. New update ( The program appears to run in the task manager but doesn't appear on screen either in taskbar.)
