for this to happen they need to implement the aircraft health engine first

We actually just implemented health for aircrafts :-)

And do you mean a feature where you can replace an aircraft on a route with another aircraft or is it something else?

Yes, replacing an older aircraft on a route with another newer aircraft. We had that in v1. So the older aircraft can be retired.

the older aircraft could be converted to a cargo one and be sold or transfered to a cargo sub

I have now implemented so it is both possible to replace an aircraft with another one on all routes as well as being able to convert a passenger aircraft to a cargo aircraft
